Barbie Turns LUX-Fashionista to Support Education

The iconic style of Barbie has just been enhanced with the help of some of our most loved designers! Not to mention, the use of ‘real’ diamonds!

That’s right LUXies, 12 members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) have come together to help create a limited edition Barbie Basic Collection featuring the up to date styles and fashion trends of the moment. As you can imagine, these new looks have taken the best-dressed doll to new heights.

They’ve even incorporated cutting edge design techniques and ready-wear looks for the doll we’ve come to love. Each of the dolls have been accessorized, clothed and completely designed by each one of the high-end fashion geniuses below!

The impeccable designers included in this new collection are: Tory Burch, Isaac Mizrahi, Rachel Roy, Justin Giunta, Lorraine Schwartz, Alexis Bittar, Monica Botkier, Deborah Lloyd of Kate Spade, Philip Crangi, Albertus Swanepoel and Devi Kroell.

What’s even more LUX, is that you can purchase any of the new designs now via EBay. Well, until February 7th that is! Note that the proceeds from this whole auction affair will be donated to the CDFA Foundation to create scholarships and educational programs to promote even more innovative fashion. Supporting the advancement of fashion and adding the most iconic Barbie to your collection, what could be more LUX?

As of the time this was written, prices were ranging from $235 to $4,050, depending on the designer and accessories. The big-ticket item seems to be the Lorraine Schwartz, one-of-a-kind Barbie Doll with actual diamond accessories! Plus, each doll comes with an authenticity certificate from the actual designer and packaged in a specially designed box to match!

As you can imagine, these new looks have taken the best-dressed doll to new heights. If you’d like to check out the entire collection, visit barbiecollector.com.
