LadyLUX: What inspired you to start a Fashion Blog?
Vanilla Fringe: I was constantly checking food and fashion blogs and figured I would start my own with creative ideas, easy recipes, and closet favorites. My mom worked in fashion when I was little, so I grew up loving style from a young age. I wanted to share my creative ideas and fashion finds with my friends and family and figured this was the best way to do it!
LL: How would you describe your personal style?
VF: Random! I love the boho look, but it is hard for me to wear that in the winter. I also love pieces that tell a story; a purse from my grandma, a scarf from my mom, a skirt I’ve had since 8th grade…these are the pieces I love to style because they have been in my closet forever. But if I had to narrow it down, I would say it is a mixture of glam, glitz, comfort, and tailored pieces.

LL: What’s your favorite trend of 2011?
VF: Lace, platforms, plum lips. Please let them all stay.
LL: Share something your readers might not know about you…
VF: I work in sports and entertainment journalism, so it is sometimes quite difficult for me to find time to fit my fashion/food/creative side job into my everyday schedule. Besides that, I hate bats (complete phobia), I love heels (shoes in general), and I can kick your butt in arcade basketball.

LL: Do you have a style icon?
VF: Don’t we all? I have a few…Grace Kelly was always so glamorous and polished to perfection. My mom; she dresses for her personality and body and always looks like a million bucks even if she only spent 50 on her outfit that day. Blake Lively; if I could have her closet, or at least everything she’s worn in the past, I wouldn’t have to buy another thing for the rest of my life (ok, that might be a stretch).
