There is already something so entertaining about checking into Foursquare, the mobile platform that allows you to share your location and collect points, but now the fun can lead to a new Nancy Gonzalez clutch. On Oct.1, Foursquare will team up with Neiman Marcus Fashion Island during their Shoe and Handbag Event for a unique fashion scavenger hunt.

In a game of “finders keepers,” 15 Nancy Gonzalez clutches will be hidden in secret locations throughout the store, just waiting to be found. The excitement will begin when participants arrive and check in to Neiman Marcus on Foursquare and receive a special message that will ask if the participant would like to play or would like to register to win..The“Check-in Special” will notify the user if he or she is in the vicinity of one the hidden clutches and instruct where to look for it. The first person to find the handbag keeps it as a prize.

Neiman Marcus and Foursquare will also be hosting Nancy Gonzalez clutch giveaways at all 41 locations of its luxury department stores. Participants will have a chance to enter the random drawing when checking into any Neiman Marcus location through Foursquare.

“Foursquare is another example of how Neiman Marcus is reaching both new and loyal customers with mobile and digital communications to create a unique in-store experience,” said Gabrielle de Papp, vice president of corporate public relations and social media, Neiman Marcus Group in a statement. “Our hope is to engage with our customers in a fun and stimulating way while showcasing our assortment of fashion accessories.”

To participate in the Foursquare challenge, follow these steps:

- Download the Foursquare app at the Android Market or the Apple App Store onto a smartphone.

- Upon arrival at the local Neiman Marcus store, check in to the location with the Foursquare app. You will be prompted either to search for a hidden clutch on the premises or to register for a chance to win one later. The scavenger hunt will take place from 12 p.m. till 4 p.m.

- Follow the clue to locate a hidden Nancy Gonzalez bag within the Neiman Marcus store OR follow the instructions to register to win.
