Empowering Your Health:  How You Can Regain Your Health Through Knowledge

LUXies, a new company called EmpowHER.com has just launched a website that allows you to take your healthcare needs into your own hands!

As many of us know we, as women, we tend to take on the caretaker role for others, but we often neglect our own needs. As a way to combat that, EmpowHER is all about helping women refocus on their own health by implementing practices of prevention and wellness. This new site provides information geared towards women becoming more knowledgeable about health opportunities and decisions that will ensure you have what you need to maintain your health, which allows you to better help others!

EmpowHer provides an innovative set of online resources that are 100 percent focused on helping women improve their health and well-being. Here’s just a brief overview of the features you’ll find at EmpowHer. –via EmpowHer.com.

One nifty feature is the ‘Health Events’ section, which contains about 1.6 million FREE or inexpensive health education and screening events throughout the country. This new resource will help those with or without health insurance have access to the most updated opportunities in their local living areas.

The founder of EmpowHer, Michelle Robson, relates to those that she designed the site for. When she was faced with a great illness she soon discovered how women are underserved in this area and the lack of resources available inspired her to be the change! She’s now a women’s health advocate and hopes that this new online community can be a resource and a tool to prevent, as well as answer any health concerns you might encounter.

EmpowHer has a powerful interactive platform where you can share your own stories and learn from others. The writers on this site are women who currently have chronic conditions and are talking from personal experience on topics ranging from post-partum depression to heart disease. Not to mention, there is a team that seeks out the leading specialist on various conditions that are willing to tape short segments of information to share with those that might benefit. Some of the topics that caught our attention include: Dr. Mansfield talks about sleep apnea, Dr. Brian Weeks discusses sinus and allergy prevention tips and Dr. Sorof discusses birth control and its affects on the female heart. This and much, much more is available.

Please be sure to check out this new site and let us know your thoughts LUXies! Is this a LUX resource for you that you feel inspired to share with others?
