Herbs: The Natural Beauty Remedy
Those herbs in your cupboards can be used for much more than just cooking, they are also natural beauty products! Not only do they add flavor to our food and nourish and heal our body, they can help us look our best. Here are some quick and easy uses for those little lovelies that are probably already in your home.
As an easy, last minute solution for glowing skin, try combining turmeric with coconut oil and use as a face mask. The ginger relative is also said to stop unwanted hair growth.
Oily skin? Try brewing up an herbal skin tonic boiling sage in water for 15 minutes and mixing with equal parts of cider vinegar. Sage can also be used to deepen brown shades of hair. Soak the leaves in two cups of water overnight, strain, and apply the leave-in treatment to freshly washed locks.
Capitalize on the antibacterial properties of neem to treat skin conditions including eczema, acne, dandriff and psoriasis. Use the oil for dry skin conditions and apply the powder and water for oily skin challenges.
Add rosemary oil to your shampoo or massage it directly into the scalp in order to fight dandriff, promote hair growth and restore luster. For a hot-oil treatment, apply heated oil to hair and scalp, wrap head in a towel for an hour, and rinse. The benefits are also received when used in cooking. NOTE: regular use will darken hair.
Grab some capsules of evening primrose to strengthen hair and nails.
