LUX “It” List: Fashion designers and their muses
The relationship between an artist and his muse has always been private, intuitive and complex. The word muse comes from Greek mythology and refers to “a guiding spirit” or “source of inspiration.” Throughout Classical mythology, poetry and literature, a muse was a goddess or spirit who enabled authors to bring their visions to life. This same notion is alive today with talented designers and the models, actresses and women of unparalleled style who inspire them. Here are five prominent fashion designers and their muses from the past and present who embody this visceral and fabled relationship.
