LUX Style File: Paris Fashion Week, Givenchy Goes Political
Well Givenchy certainly had an interesting showing of their F/W 09 Haute Couture Collection in Paris! Their creative director, Riccardo Tisci, definitely struck design genius and political controversy by showing two burqas in the famed houses’ line. Givenchy’s Modern Arabian Nights theme paired well with the landscape of current political events in France. Recently, French President Nicolas Sarkozy backed a national ban on burqas while speaking to Parliament at the Palace of Versailles.
