March 22 at LAFW: LA Rocks
Tonight, March 22, the event LA Rocks will kick off in Hollywood. A collaborative effort between Designer Lauren Elaine, Key Club and La Maison de Fashion, the event is an over-the-top take on your typical runway show. Kicked off with a musical performance by Kayslee Collins and followed by the theatrical presentation a lá “Little Red Riding Hood”, every aspect of the arts is represented.
Stacey Wiseman, the organizer of the event, says, “For this season, Lauren Elaine really wanted to do something unique to show how film and music inspire her work- as well as shape the city of Los Angeles. ‘LA Rocks Fashion Week’ is an attempt to merge that inspiration and treat guests to more than just your typical runway show.”
After the interesting runway presentation, there will be two more musical performances until the wee hours and a reception for a chance to meet the designers.
If this offbeat, artistic lineup wasn’t enough to sell you, it’s great to know that LA Rocks all goes to a great cause. A percentage of the proceeds will benefit Clearity Foundation and Ovarian Cancer Research. So not only do you get to ogle great womenswear… but you also are watching out for ladies everywhere by contributing to this fashion event.
