Radar: Sienna Miller is the new face of Piaget

Icons come in all shapes and sizes: Iconic pieces of clothing, iconic songs from one’s youth, iconic jewels that you long to have, or at last drape yourself in, and iconic stars who light up the screen.

The latter two, often conjoin, especially for maximum marketing purposes. Enter Sienna Miller, the latest spokesperson for Piaget, and in particular its Possession Collection. The luxury watchmaker, who has been crafting gorgeous timepieces and jewelry since 1874. What began as a family-run business blossomed into an internationally acclaimed brand based in Geneva, Switzerland (it is now part of the Richemont family of luxury companies).

The new campaign was shot by no other than renowned photographer Raymond Meier, who has shot hundreds of images for Harper’s Bazaar, Flair, The New York Times T Magazine, and Vogue, particularly of jewels. Miller joins a group of storied and celebrated women, such as Emmanuelle Seigner, Lisa Kudrow, Rihanna, Eva Longoria, Zoe Saldana, and Teri Hatcher who have come to represent the storied line of Piaget.

For the last twenty years, the Possession Collection has reigned as one of the premier luxury collections of jewelry (a watch was added to the collection in 2005), possessing, as it were, a unique concept: two rings that turn around each other. The collection has within it four styles: the Classique, Bandeau, Eccentrique, and Entrelacee, as well as stacking wedding rings, white or yellow gold, with or without diamonds. For its birthday, at a ripe old 20 years, Piaget added a third feature: A chain, expanding the possibilities from rings to necklaces and bracelets, and anything else their designers dream up.

Now Miller will be the new face of the collection, adding her fresh look to what is already a fresh and universally recognized brand. Her status with the company could not be more good for the sake of good: Miller is a global ambassador for International Medical Corps, a California-based nonprofit organization that helps the world’s vulnerable communities transform from relief to self-reliant. With her energy and enthusiasm—and through her blog on the organization’s website—Miller has made a plea for Haiti relief many times over. She has also used her celebrity to bring attention to the plight of those in the Congo. Clearly, with Miller as their spokeswoman, Piaget could not have made a more beautiful choice.
