NYFW Spring 2012: Zac Posen

Zac Posen’s Spring 2012 collection brought complex sensuality and femininity to New York Fashion Week, reported Style.com. Complete with classic dresses in the richest fabrics and colors, Posen’s entire line was a mix of flirty romance and dark drama.

The show started off with a knee-length, nude-colored dress. Tailored suit separates and playful dresses hugged the models’ curves while still looking professional. Hemlines were kept around the knee and flared with ruffles underneath the skirts.

One hue that particularly popped among the nudes and dark colors was emerald green, which created a certain aura of elegance. The jewel-toned color was used to create a suit; cap-sleeved, floor-length gown, and darker emerald spaghetti-strap gown.

The most extravagant pieces of the collection were the mermaid-style, floor-length dresses and over-the-top ball-gowns. Models made their way down the runway in looks crafted of elegant fabrics such as sheer lace and soft velvet. Each striking dress maintained a regal ambiance with numbers that boasted sweetheart necklines, pickups, sheer cap sleeves, halter necklines, rosettes and sparkling embellishments, all adding to the romantic vibe of the show.

Models’ hair was slicked back into classic up-dos and their sparkling chandelier earrings were easily spotted by the crowd. The models sported nude, high-heeled pumps and their make-up was kept lady-like with long lashes, rosy cheeks and red lips.

Posen’s line stood out from the rest of the New York Fashion Week collections because of his lavishness. Good thing there is never a certain season to wear a fabulous ball-gown: Posen’s Spring line is timeless.
