Radar: GAP and CFDA limited edition collection

Starting yesterday, Gap will retail a limited edition collection, designed by the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners. The up-and-coming designers—Monique Péan, Patrik Ervell and Sophie Théallet—were asked to create their craft, whether it be jewelry, menswear or womenswear, using Gap’s iconic American aesthetic. Available starting June 3, Gap’s rotating concept shop on 5th avenue in NYC will feature each designer’s interpretation of the San Francisco- based brand. Many big names have came from Gap’s partnership with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. Do you know Thakoon? Who can miss his beautiful silky prints and modern drapery. Well he jumpstarted his career when was one of the CVFF winners for 2007, reinterpreting Gap’s iconic white woven. Last year the CVFF got a lot of attention when Albertus Swanepoel, Alexander Wang and Vena Cava’s Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai used their artistic genius to reinterpret the classic khaki pant.

“I love this partnership because it allows us to raise awareness of emerging design talent while giving our customers access to exciting new designers at an affordable price,” Gap’s Executive Vice President of Design, Patrick Robinson released in a statement on Thursday.

Seen in the images above, the designers created a plethora of products to ogle. From flirty floral dresses to structured button ups and chunky wood jewelry, practically every corner of the room has something that will catch your eye. Knowing what we do about past competitors, it’s easy to say this a group of people to keep your eye on.

CFDA’s Executive Director Steven Kolb said, “The CVFF designers are the top names to watch…It is an exciting collection of womens and mens clothing and jewelry.”
