Showcase Event: The Costume Institute Gala
Get ready to be inspired by the famed LUX fashion event of the year, The Costume Institute Gala! ‘The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion’ theme is guaranteed to showcase trends we have all adorned over the last fifty years. This year’s hosts include: Honorary Chair, Marc Jacobs and Co-Chairs, Kate Moss, Justin Timberlake and of course, Anna Wintour. The exhibit will be on display for the public at the Metropolitan Museum from May 6 thru August 9. A very LUXified event!! 😉
The exhibition examines a timeline of fashion from 1947 to 1997 through the idealized aesthetic of the fashion model,” said Harold Koda, Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute. “We look at the power of clothing, fashion photography, and the model to project the look of an era. With a mere gester, a truly stellar model can sum up the attitude of her time—becoming not only a muse to designers or photographers, but a muse to a generation.”
We look forward to seeing the usual suspects from the “IN” crowd—iconic designers, celebrities and models and the like, all dressed to make an artistic impression!! Some of the confirmed Hollywood attendees are: Tyra Banks, Rachel Bilson, Halle Berry, Kirsten Dunst, Gisele Bundchen, Elizabeth Hurley, Jessica Alba, Heidi Klum, and Madonna.
