Can a woman ever have enough handbags??
Decidedly, the answer to that question would be no.
Like shoes (and any other accessory), handbags are items for the ages. And no one knows that better than fashion guru and designer Steven Alan. The latest collaboration between Alan and V Australia is called the Perfect Bag (as if there is one).
Currently in development, the bag is designed for travel, but will surely be used for every day, or any day. V Australia is the newest venture by another maverick, Richard Branson, his newest airline with international routes. The bag is inspired by the authentic beauty and adventure of Australia, a country that has certainly been in vogue much of late—witness the recent swashbuckling adventure romance with Nicole and Hugh; supermodel Gemma Ward; Sydney, coolest city around (and hey, don’t forget the BeeGees). Alan is designing a one-of-a-kind sac created specifically for and in coordination with the Perfect Trip to Australia, a journey that includes round-trip travel on V Australia (in conjunction with Down Under Answers and Springboard Vacations) and tours of two of Sydney’s most famous landmarks, The Great Barrier Reef and the Sydney Opera House.
Debuting for a limited time in December 2009, the bag is available exclusively at select Steven Alan boutiques in New York and Los Angeles as well as online on the V Australia website. Alan’s design will capture the sights, sounds, flavor and spirit of Australia’s famed tourist attractions from firsthand experience on his own recent Perfect Trip, where he embarked on a cultural Australian journey. Trips can be customized (round-trip flights from Los Angeles to Sydney or Brisbane only) and tickets can be purchased at perfectproject.vaustralia.com. A mere $829 is all one needs to put the perfectness in motion.
Alan says of his involvement, “Every great traveler knows one thing: It’s all about the bag.—or more specifically the perfect bag. In creating the Perfect Bag, I aim to capture the sights, sounds, flavor and spirit of Sydney and the Great Barrier Reef from first-hand experience on my own Perfect Trip.” Inspired by the people, places and lifestyle of Queensland and New South Wales, Alan’s one-of-a-kind carryall will make its limited-edition debut in December 2009.
